Darren Bent predicts whether Unai Emery will leave Aston Villa for Liverpool

Darren Bent has given his verdict on whether Aston Villa manager Unai Emery will leave for Liverpool at the end of the season.

Liverpool are on the hunt for a new manager after Jurgen Klopp decided that he will step down at the end of the season.

As HITC revealed last week, Sporting Lisbon boss Ruben Amorim is a leading candidate to take over at Anfield.

Xabi Alonso, who has led Bayer Leverkusen to the Bundesliga title this season, has already ruled himself out of the running.

Darren Bent gives verdict on Unai Emery potentially leaving Aston Villa for Liverpool

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Darren Bent has given his verdict on whether or not Unai Emery would leave Aston Villa for Liverpool.

The talkSPORT pundit and Arsenal fan does not think that Emery will take over at the Merseyside club because of his experience at the Gunners.

After Arsene Wenger left Arsenal, Emery became the manager of the North London club, but he was eventually sacked.

Bent said about Emery potentially leaving Villa for Liverpool on talkSPORT (5:14 pm, April 15, 2024): “Again, Liverpool are a bigger club. It’s facts, right, but the thing is he has been burnt before by doing that.

“He went to Arsenal. I don’t think the club were ready yet. Wenger had been there for 20+ years. If he had stuck with Wenger had done, he might have lasted a bit longer.

“If he went to Liverpool after what he has done, do you really want to do that again? You want to the guy following that guy, do you know what I mean?”

Unai Emery is in demand

Unai Emery was not as bad at Arsenal as some made him out to be, and he has certainly been a huge success at Aston Villa.

Villa are now fourth in the Premier League table and could beat Tottenham Hotspur to the final UEFA Champions League spot.

HITC revealed on Monday that Barcelona and Bayern Munich are keeping tabs on Emery.

Villa, though, are confident that the 52-year-old former Paris Saint-Germain and Sevilla manager will not leave at the end of the season.
