Gabby Agbonlahor lasted less than a minute on talkSPORT before hanging up following Aston Villa's Europa Conference League exit.

The former Villa striker was being mocked by Jason Cundy and Jamie O'Hara after Unai Emery's side's European adventure ended in heartbreak.

Villa were knocked out at the semi-final stage by Greek side Olympiacos - losing 2-0 on Thursday night - a week after their 4-2 home defeat.

And The Sports Bar presenters wasted no time in getting the former striker on the phone, where they proceeded to poke fun at Agbonlahor's expense having seen his beloved side lose to a team fourth in the Greek Super League.

And the 37-year-old answered Cundy's call with a snappy 'What?', leading to laughter from the presenters.

After being serenaded by chants of, 'Up the Villa', the ex-England international said: "Listen, we're going for Champions League.

"We don't play these small competitions, we want to win the big ones."

It led O'Hara to state that the Midlands outfit don't deserve Champions League qualification, as he branded Villa a 'shambles'.

To which Agbonlahor responded by saying: "Listen, we'll give it our all, we'll hold some humble pie, but we'll be back. Don't worry. Champions League football next season."

He continued: "We've got three players out with an ACL - [Boubacar] Kamara, [Emi] Buendia.

"[Youri] Tielemans was out, [Jacob] Ramsey was out, we've got a lot of injuries."

It was at this point that a crying baby was played over the phone call, which ultimately proved to be the last straw for Agbonlahor.

Jason Cundy mocked by caller as he clashes with Aston Villa fan who claims 'the sleeping giants have awoken'

He simply stated: "I don't need this, I'm going."

Once again, Cundy and O'Hara burst into tears, with Agbonlahor barely lasting a minute before putting the phone down.

Should Villa have beaten Olympiacos, they would have reached their first European final since winning the European Cup in 1982.

Victory against Fiorentina in the final would then have seen them win their first major piece of silverware since their League Cup victory in 1996.

But it's not all doom and gloom for Villa, with Emery's men on the cusp of sealing a top four spot to continue their charge in Europe. This season marked the club's first on the Continent since 2010 and Emery is focusing on finishing the campaign strongly.

My message is clear," Emery told TNT Sports. "Move on and we have to try and finish the season.

"[We are] doing an amazing season, particularly if we manage to achieve the last objective. Even without it [Champions League] we are in Europe, in the Europa League.

"This is an experience for us at Aston Villa after a long time [of not being in Europe] and again we are going to compete in Europe next year. Of course we are a little bit disappointed, a little bit frustrated, but we have to move on quick."

Up next is Liverpool at Villa Park, which will be live on talkSPORT on 13 May.
