Michail Antonio has revealed what Jurgen Klopp said to Mohamed Salah during their dramatic touchline row at West Ham.

Salah came on as a late substitute for Liverpool in their 2-2 draw at the Hammers but was involved in a heated moment with his boss.

Klopp's handshake was initially missed by the winger before he came on and after they connected, the manager appeared to have stern words for his player.

The Liverpool duo then had some verbal back and forth, with other footage showing they blanked each other at the full-time whistle.

Microphones were unable to pick up what was said but it appears as though some on the West Ham bench overheard.

Hammers star Antonio spoke about it on The Footballer's Football Podcast, explaining: "Basically, this is not inside information, no one has told me nothing, I'm going to put that out there.

"But what I've heard is basically what happened was, this is what the boys have been talking about at the training ground. Every time a [Liverpool] player is coming on, Klopp always gives them a big hug to say good luck and blah blah blah.

"Obviously when Mo came up, he kind of walked a different direction and he was kind of like doing his shin pads and stuff like that. Obviously Klopp has put his hand out to him and his hand was like kind of just there, kind of for a bit.

"Obviously as Mo stopped doing what he was doing, he's kind of just like slapped his hand as in like a high-five type thing. Obviously Klopp didn't like that so he was like, 'Do you want to sit back down?' basically saying like, 'Do you not want to go on?'

"No one's told me what Mo said back, that's what the situation was."

Klopp insisted that they spoke about it in the dressing room and that the situation was resolved.

But when reporters asked Salah about the row after the match, he refused to comment and said: "If I speak today there will be fire.”

Gabby Agbonlahor believes Jurgen Klopp is causing big problems for Liverpool by disrespecting Mo Salah in their heated sideline exchange

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher called for fans to not take sides as he hopes the duo can 'enjoy the last few weeks together.'

Klopp is set to leave the Reds at the end of the season following nine successful years in charge at Anfield.

He has helped to guide the club to Premier League and Champions League success during his spell, with Salah also playing a key role in their achievements.

The Egyptian has one year left on his contract at Liverpool and his future is therefore far from certain.

However, talkSPORT understands that Liverpool are confident he will extend his stay at the club, with Saudi Pro League chiefs' hopes of signing him beginning to fade.
