Marcus Rashford is unlikely to leave Manchester United this summer despite suggestions the club are open to his departure.

Rashford’s future at Old Trafford has been called into question in the wake of a dismal season that has seen him score just eight goals in 40 games and being booed by his own fans during the FA Cup semi-final against Coventry at Wembley.

However, talkSPORT understands United are not actively trying to push their former academy poster boy and highest-paid player out of the exit door and are keen to find ways to help the England international get back to the brilliant form he showed last season.

In any case clubs are hardly queuing up to prise Rashford away from United and it is hard to see a scenario where he is able to command his current wages in excess of £300,000-a-week elsewhere.

Paris Saint-Germain did show faint interest last summer after he enjoyed a much-needed return to form by scoring 30 goals but sources close to the French giants have distanced themselves from claims he is being considered as a replacement for Real Madrid-bound Kylian Mbappe.

Moyes to spark West Ham exodus

David Moyes’s exit from West Ham is set to spark a flurry of departures of club stalwarts.

As previously reported by talkSPORT, Moyes is increasingly likely to leave the Hammers when his contract expires in the summer and former Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui is a leading contender to replace him in the dugout.

A change of manager could also mean a changing of the guard at London Stadium with Michail Antonio, Aaron Cresswell and Vladimir Coufal among those to potentially follow Moyes out.

Antonio’s contract expires at the end of the season and it is not guaranteed the club take up the option to extend by a further year as they look to bring in a younger striker such as Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke. The Jamaican international has previously been a target for the Saudi Pro League.

Left-back Cresswell, 34, is also a free agent in the summer and despite the Hammers wanting to keep him, is said to be open to a fresh challenge after being restricted to a handful of starts this season.

Meanwhile the reliable Coufal’s own deal will be up next summer and the Czech Republic international has been unable to agree fresh terms, sparking interest from clubs across Europe.

Cherries to lose key man as Newcastle circle

Newcastle target Lloyd Kelly is expected to leave Bournemouth this summer despite being offered a big pay rise to stay at the Vitality Stadium.

The Cherries have pulled out all the stops to try and keep Kelly but at 25, the centre-back is leaning towards a move with Newcastle and Juventus among his suitors.

talkSPORT has been told Kelly final decision will not be money-motivated but purely about what is best for his football career.

The former England under-21 international was signed by Bournemouth from Bristol City for £13m when Newcastle manager Eddie Howe was in charge of the Cherries and the pair have a big mutual respect for each other.

Newcastle are attracted to Kelly because he will not command a fee and due to his ability to play as a left-sided centre-back and at left-back.

Klopp exit sparks backroom uncertainty

Liverpool’s long-serving goalkeeping coach John Achterberg is facing an uncertain future at Anfield following Jurgen Klopp’s exit.

Highly-rated Achterberg, 52, credited with helping Allisson win the Golden Glove and the development of Caoimhin Kelleher, has been with the Reds since 2009 and has been part of the first-team backroom staff for the past 13 years.

In his time at the club, former Tranmere star has survived four managerial changes but it remains to be seen if he will be kept on once new manager Arne Slot is in situ.

Slot wants to bring Feyenoord assistant Sipke Hulshoff and head of performance Etienne Reijnen with him to Anfield and the majority of Klopp’s existing staff are expected to depart.
